  1. Wanted to let you know about a disappointing experience at Taco Town near Central & Greenwich. I needed a quick lunch and ordered 2 tacos, not thinking to question the employee about gluten because it's a fast food taco, how complicated can it be? Turns out the standard tacos are in deep fried flour tortillas. I'm told it was delicious, but I didn't get to eat that day. It was my fault for not asking, but still disappointing.

  2. Twelve Restaurant has a gluten free menu and said that they can make almost everything on their menu GF if you ask. Also, both Taste and See locations say they have gluten free items and can make many menu items GF

  3. I have to beg you to add a couple to your list, or at least try them out. Both are downtown and both are family owned. Garden Grill Cafe (super fresh, vegan, and a beautiful interior) will prepare anything on the menu to be gluten free. Also, Pasta Piazza, formerly known as Bravo's - amazing authentic Italian. They keep gluten-free pasta on hand and if you call ahead to let them know you're coming, they'll start preparing it so you don't have to wait quite as long. As a disclaimer, neither places are experts on the issue, but both are more than willing to learn and serve their customers. I have celiac and am very sensitive, and I have never become ill after eating either place.

Today I had lunch at Pasta Piazza and Lita, the owner's daughter, told me "we'd love to build a gluten-free customer base, so that maybe we can expand our offerings even more, but people just don't know about us." So I thought I'd do a little proselytizing :)

  4. I saw ??? after Olive garden. i am a newly diagnosed celiacs and enjoy eating out but that's been hard.. Went to Olive garden.(East on Rock Road area) They have a menu on the calorie counter menu. There were @4 choices. It was good, my first time eating the GF pasta. A bit hard on some but something upset my tummy... I asked if made on a GF counter. The waiter sent the manager over and she said they do the best they can.. so that means ???? for sure...

  5. Can I say I love your blog? I just discovered this while trying to find GF restaurants in Wichita (I'm not celiac, but I've got a pretty gnarly gluten intolerance) and this is SO helpful. Bookmarking this forever. :D

  7. This isn't eating out but there is Biscotti Bakery that has some GF. They are at the farmers market at 21st and Ridge. Or online at BiscottiBakeryllc.com . It is yummy!

  8. I enjoyed the pleasure of Kobe Steak House of Japan on Tyler and 21st Street. The waitstaff immediately knew what I should avoid, brought me gf soy sauce and told the chef. When he came out he went through everybody's order and then we talked about my allergy as he touched on mine. He then asked everyone if we could cook mine first so that my food would be safe. Tasted great and I had no side effects. The most knowledgeable staff I have encountered in a regular store! No gf menu but good training.

  10. You should definitely add Sabor in Old Town Square. At least half of their menu is GF (and it's amazing!).
